My art career began when I was eight years old. My dance instructor recognized my artistic talent and told my mother that I should take art classes. Knowing the obvious when she sees it, my mother sent me to the Museum of Modern Art for lessons. If you go to MOMA and you see a pink and yellow bumble bee made of papier mache', that's mine!!!
After I graduated from high school, I attended Hunter College of the City University of New York. I received my B.A. in design, but that didn't pay the rent.
I kinda gave up doing anything creative while I tried to earn a living. However, fate intervened again. I had a son in 1974 and another one in 1978. That was pretty creative, but I did have help from my husband.
In 1978, I was asked to be a secretary of an organization. I said, "How about if I do visual aids instead?" I was told to volunteer. At some point we needed centerpieces for a dinner. My budget was ZERO DOLLARS. So a friend and I picked weeds and used anything that could stand up. It was a hit! I had found my medium. Thereafter, people started asking me to make arrangements for their homes and offices.
For twenty six years I had a tiny business selling arrangements to a select few. And then fate interfered once more. I had been working for a large insurance company for twelve years. I was starting to suspect that I might get "down-sized". I sought a mentor who could give me direction within the company. After three meetings, she steered me into developing my own business. It seems insurance is really not the place to stimulate creativity and individuality, much less thinking outside the box, the envelope or your cubicle.
Now is the time!!! I'm putting all my energy and creativity into developing a successful business.

I specialize in custom orders working from swatches, photos or sketches. I deal directly with the importers, so you won't see your arrangements in any other home or office.
